Neighbourhood Watch are looking for volunteers to deliver one or more awareness events in Suffolk to provide essential information around the BT Digital Voice switchover that will be happening by end of January 2027. This will impact anyone that has a BT analogue landline but in particular the elderly, vulnerable, remote/isolated and those with little or no mobile signal/broadband connection.
Volunteers can choose to do one or more events. Two training sessions will be provided over MS Teams by BT and Neighbourhood Watch and volunteers would not be expected to have technical expertise or knowledge. Resources will be provided to support conversations.
Team Up: Partner with another volunteer to run an informative 3–4-hour event.
Set the Stage: Help set up the room and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Engage and Educate: Chat with BT customers, explaining the Digital Switch and sharing what Neighbourhood Watch is all about.
Personal Connections: Interact with attendees one-on-one or in small groups.
Feedback Fun: Collect feedback through surveys and learn what our community thinks.
Share the Knowledge: Hand out information leaflets.
Wrap It Up: Ensure everything is tidied up and attendees leave informed and happy.
Love engaging and supporting people.
Are available during daytime.
Can attend online training sessions.
Are able to travel to event locations.
Share Neighbourhood Watch values.
Bring enthusiasm!
